Braidwood Quilt Event 23 - 25 November 2018!


Dates to remember

Opening - the Honorable Tim Overall, Mayor of Queanbeyan and Palerang Regional Council will officially open the 2018 Quilt Event. All entrants and other interested persons are invited to attend.

When: Friday, Nov 23, commencing at 6pm
Venue: The National Theatre, Wallace St
Cost: $10 per person.

Displays and Competitions - 24th and 25th November

Indoor Competition - There will be a number of categories all with financial prizes and/or encouragement awards
Outdoor Competition – ‘Airing of the Quilts’ will be conducted for 2 days in 2018. NOTE: All quilts will be brought in-doors by 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Details of

Modern Colour Workshop with Crystal McGann

When: Friday the 23rd of November

The workshop covers the basics of colour theory and explores how it relates to choosing fabrics for your quilts. You will learn about colour relationships and why they matter, how to curate a colour palette using an inspiration source, find a way to use that "ugly" fabric and make your own colour wheel quilt.’ To find out more about Crystal McGann at  Tickets: $100, booking at Evenbrite

  • We organise the annual Braidwood Quilt Event and the famous Airing of the Quilts
  • We hold the Braidwood Quilters mid-year Country Luncheon
  • We plan monthly community quilt workshops
  • We get together every Wednesday for sewing, fun and goss
  • Our members support worthy projects
  • We travel quilts to support other quilting organisations
  • We initiate and participate in “fusion events” which cross over into other areas of the arts
